Desk Organizer

colored paper
scissors
cardboard boxes or tubes
cardboard for the base
decorations or trim
glue
pencil

Directions for how children can make a Desk Organizer

Arrange the tubes and boxes into different shapes. Find the pattern or design you like best. You can use frozen juice cans, paper towel rolls (cut to height), toilet paper rolls, or a small box. Just be sure there are no sharp edges on the cans.
Select a piece of paper to cover a tube. You can use any colorful paper you want. Cut a rectangle that is about 1/2 inch or 2 cm longer than the tube.
Wrap the paper around the tube and glue at the seam. Fold the extra
material into the top of the tube for a more finished look.
Arrange the finished tubes so that the seams can’t be seen and glue them together.
Use a pencil to trace the shape of the Organizer on to the cardboard. Cut out the base and glue to the bottom of the Organizer.

Ideas for Desk Organizer

Cut out a square or circle for the base and then decorate it.
Use plan paper and cut it to the right size. Have the children make drawings or designs on the paper using markers or crayons.
